Steve joined Capital Associates in 2001 as Regional Manager and Broker in Charge for Capital's Piedmont Triad Regional Office. His responsibilities include serving as asset and leasing manager for the Renaissance Plaza, a twenty-story office tower located in downtown Greensboro and 800 Green Valley Road, a five-story Class A office building located in suburban Greensboro. In addition, he is responsible for Capital Associates' brokerage, real estate consulting and development activities in the Triad region.
Steve has over thirty years experience in the fields of corporate and commercial real estate. He came to Capital Associates from Wachovia Bank having served as senior real estate manager and acquisition specialist in the corporate real estate department since 1990. In that capacity, Steve was responsible for identifying and negotiating site acquisitions and leases for bank facilities in all of North Carolina as well as in high growth markets including Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads Virginia, Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties in South Florida, New York City, and Chicago. He also directed the disposition of surplus bank properties in three states by negotiated sale as well as by the auction method.
Prior to joining Wachovia, Steve served as the real estate representative for Pepsico's KFC restaurant division for the mideast region based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before entering corporate real estate, Steve worked as a commercial real estate broker in Greensboro, North Carolina for three years.
Steve is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina. He and his family are members of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. He received his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and attended graduate school at the University of Houston. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and Virginia. He is a member of the CCIM Institute and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
